Our History

For over forty years in Japan, DLD has been striving to improve and enhance the English language skills of its clients.  The three founding partners – Pa Davis, Gary LaBar, and Ed DeCamp – came to Japan in the early 1970s, and together built an innovative in-house English language and international business training program at a major chemicals corporation.  

DLD was officially founded as a Japanese corporation in 1982.  Over time, more top-quality teachers were hired and DLD expanded its services to other clients, including law firms, pharmaceutical companies, consulting companies, and automakers.

From its earliest beginnings until today, DLD has trained thousands of Japanese professionals to communicate in English with competence and confidence.
